Custom plastic packaging
If you cannot find what you are looking for in our standard food packaging range, Avamoplast is always happy to develop custom packaging tailored perfectly to your needs and wishes.
In addition, our clients can always count on quick turnaround times and close follow-up from design all the way to the end of production.
Though of course custom plastic packaging only becomes cost-effective in larger volumes.
How do we go about creating custom packaging?
1. Packaging needs mapped out in detail
During this first phase of the design process, we map out all packaging needs and wishes in detail and proactively. Food safety, the efficiency of your manufacturing process and cost-effectiveness will be our focus, asking questions, such as:
» What food products is the packaging intended for?
» What shape is your food product and how much of it will each packaging item contain?
» What is the automated unstacking and filling process like?
» Should the packaging be suitable for microwave, oven or freezer?
» Is (tamper-evident) sealing needed?
» What are the stacking and transport requirements?
» How will the packaging be labelled?
» How long should the product’s shelf life be?
2. Custom plastic packaging design
Once we have a better understanding of your needs, our product specialists will design a unique plastic packaging item for you. At this point, we will select the most suitable material: polystyrene, polypropylene, APET or polyethylene.
Avamoplast’s staff will also look at which of our two production techniques is best: injection moulding or thermoforming. In-mould labelling (IML) or dry offset printing will then be considered when it comes to labelling your packaging.
As soon as you approve our design, we will move on to the next step.
3. Production start
Before really starting the production of your unique plastic packaging, we will make moulds, as these will enable us to make your design in large numbers.
Once they are ready, we will get going with production and delivery.
